Looking for outside shutters, I think I wrote a long time ago about this and now have a need with the new house and cant find my notes. I think these are called Bermuda Shutters or Bahama Shutters or Key West Shutters. They are louvered and can be tilted in or out depending on the angle of the sun and in time of storm they can be latched down. There are a few examples of shutters with the same concept on the older houses from the 50's that resemble square sided clam shells when closed, but I really do not like those because they have no louvers and cannot adjust them to see thu them.
Is there a local manufacturer or distributor around?

I had to get a few shutters installed on the home when we purchased. We went with Expert Shutter Service Their sales guy brought a printer with him and was able to print me a quote on the spot. They were very professional throughout the whole process.

Yeah I think the only three available that are approved are the accordian roll up and panel type. What ever you get they will need an inspection by the city and your insurance company. They started cracking down on these in order to hike rates.
