Trader Joe

Been waiting for a Trader Joe's for 25 years. Why it's taken so long for them to come to Florida I've never understood. Already a couple on our west coast and in G'ville. I have a couple of doctors in PBG area so I'll be able to hit the place when I have appts. down there.

Its interesting that when I specifically emails Trader Joes their reply asking about any new store in this area was , no, there were no plans. Then there is the article in the Sun Sentinel.

I wrote them again, and included the article. Waiting to see what the reply is this time

I really don't understand the appeal of TJ's. I've gone there and don't get the cult-like following. Glad y'all got one coming though!

Their parent company is Aldi's. Aldi's distribution center was too far up north. So as soon as they were able to open the distribution center in the south (Atlanta), then they were going to start to open TJ's down here.

For 4 yrs I sent TJ's a store request every single month. It's on their website where you can suggest a store location. I guess they got sick of hearing from me because we got the 2nd store that opened in Florida. Sarasota, Florida

They picked a horrible location and it is crowded and no parking. I have no idea what they were thinking when they picked the storefront that they did. Too small and it is out of the way.

Just start to request stores in your area. They do listen

We have a trader joe's nearby on Long Island and I've been there a couple times and usually leave empty handed. Everything is very very expensive. Being in NY groceries are expensive anyway but this place is ridiculous! Good concept though. The only thing I love from this place is their habanero lime tortillas. I buy a handful of packages on the rare occasion I go near TJ's.

I was not impressed by the one I visited in Baltimore a few years ago. The only reason I went was because I wanted to see what all the hubbub on the internet was about.

It seems a lot of people reflexively say "I wish we had a Trader Joe's" when they don't even know what it is--simply because they hear other people on the internet wishing for one.

I have heard they let whole foods do the due diligence then open nearby. Isn't there a whole foods around there? And one in Wellington so I won't be too surprised to see one pop up there soon.

Just remember stores can be deceiving. The Fresh Market is not so Fresh! Believe me I know.
I do like Whole Foods though.
I never realized Trader Joes and Aldi's are "related". As in sister companies. Who knew?!
