In the short time I have been in PSL, I have noticed that many people have freezers, even small households, I always thought they were very expensive to run especially in a hot garage. But times have changed and now things are more efficient and I am wondering if freezers make sense to own now.

My wife and I have a freezer in the garage and it usually always only 1/2 full....while the refridgerator in the kitchen is always packed full...

INSTEAD...buy yourself a second refridgerator....one with the freezer on the bottom and leave it in the garage...this way you can keep a shelf for yourself to keep the beer cold...I promise you...you will have more use for a second refridgerator that you will ever have for just a freezer...

Do you have a generator? Doesn't seem to make much sense to store a lot if there's the chance of it spoiling.

A small freezer is nice to have especially if a storm is coming. Think of all of the ice you can make. They are very well insulated so the ice would keep for days. My generator only runs the refrigerator and a few lights. I bought it for my condo so it is very small. Had I moved into my house in PSL full time I would definitely upgrade the generator and YES purchase a freezer even if I never kept it full. They are very good to have.

I don't have one and really don't see the need for one. We don't have that much food in the house to warrant it IMO. My wife would like to have one, but it'll take more than that to convince me.
