Any recommendations for a non-chain Italian restaurant in Vero Beach ? We were not impressed with the Olive Garden there, nor do we want a fancy place that charges $15 for a plate of spaghetti (yep, there is one charging that much !). A nice family-owned informal restaurant would be great to find !

I guess Marottas would fit the bill. Pretty good food and prices.

Oh Lordie, the Olive Garden is a national chain. Try the Italian Grill. Modest prices and great food.

Chain does not necessarily mean lower quality or taste. A few examples would be Roy's or the Capitol Grille. We've also been very pleased with the Carrabba's in PSL West.
For pizza locally, we have found Vincent's in the Miracle Mile plaza to be outstanding.

Thanks Sealark. I finally got around to trying Pizzoodles and was pleasantly surprised. I don't know how I missed it before.
