I absolutely mean NO disrespect to anyone living in Vero nor do I want this to be misinterpreted. We have been in Vero a little over two months and will be moving to PSL once our home is finished. Vero is very nice, especially the Indian River Blvd area. Vero is not so nice, especially the 27th street area where you have abandoned developments and run down trailer parks. PSL? Without a doubt distressed areas but overall, I feel the vibe is positive. To me, Vero seems stagnant and stuck in time (that can be a good or bad thing - depending on your perspective). For us, PSL was the right choice (that does not make it THE choice, only the right choice FOR US!)

Downtown Vero is very nice, I think - like "old Florida". I have lived here a year and seldom go farther north than 21st Street (for the library). Everything we need is along 20th Street or US 1 south of downtown. I wouldn't characterize most of Vero as "not so nice". Overall, it is a very nice town to live in. I do know that when we looked at homes here, I had a better "feel" for the southern part of the town, as far as established neighborhoods.

My "not so nice" comment was not meant as a broad stroke, I was attempting to use it in the context that there are both good and bad areas (just like PSL) in Vero.
