While I am still dismayed by the lack of songbirds in Vero Beach (surely the migrating ones would be here by now), I am amazed at the sky over my house every afternoon: hundreds of seabirds - either terns or gulls - fly towards the ocean, usually around 4pm. I assume they feed somewhere inland and fly back east to roost at night. Anyone also notice this, and any idea if my theory is right, that they feed inland and roost near the beach ? It is a lovely sight as the sun sets !

I found out the answer ! The gulls fly to the city dump in the morning, feast there all day, then fly back to the beach at night. I wonder if they all roost in one area.
