My brother and sister-in-law will be visiting us here in Vero Beach for the first time in a few weeks, and they love seafood. Any recommendations for the best mid-priced seafood restaurants in town (or regular restaurants that have good seafood on their menus) ? We've lived here for six months but haven't been to many seafood places yet.

I think the best moderately priced seafood restaurant in Vero is Jack Bakers Lobster Shanty in Royal Palm Point.

Lobster Shanty is pretty OK.

Ocean Grill is a tad pricier but way better seafood and service.

Fish Shack is great and moderate prices.

During the summer, definitely try Maison Martinique by Southbeach between 4:30 and 6. Awesome entrees that usual cost megabucks are $20-25.

Stay away from Muligans...so-so food for outrageous prices. (go across the street and pay slightly less at Ocean Grill for impeccable menu and service.

For the BEST seafood, go to 12A Buoy in Ft. Pierce. It's a hole-in-the-wall bar with the best seafood I ever put in my mouth...well worth the 20 min. drive.

We tried the Lobster Shack on Saturday, and had an excellent meal - their Early Bird Special for lunch includes beverage, salad bar (or soup), entree with one side, and dessert - all for between $15 and $20, depending on the entree. I had the apricot chicken which was delicious. Very nice location and atmosphere, and the service was good as well.

Mulligan's is off our list now, with their recent price increases. A fish sandwich and a few fries cost $14 ! The fish was more crust than fish.

Default Mulligan's is off our list now

Same here, if it wasn't directly on the ocean with great views they would probably go out of business.
