Currently I have Uverse and not happily with the channel selection and prices for the various packages like U200 etc. I notice many of my neighbors using satellite dish networks and wondered if there is a clear winner in the Port St Lucie area. I am not interested in sports and prefer news and movies. I would have liked to have seen the Florida State game last night but I do not have ESPN.

Thanks,
Sid

I would never buy a satellite here in FL. The wet season can be very dangerous, and the last thing you want is your tv to be out due to reception issues. I learned that when we lived in NC and there was a tornado. Never again!

I had Comcast when we first moved here. I got a better deal with AT&T, so now I have that. I'm happy with them- I have 3 DVR's and the U300 package with all the movie channels. I pay less with Uverse than I did with less with Comcast.

We have Uverse and are happy with it. I'm surprised you don't get ESPN - I would think even the most basic package would include that channel. I agree with SeetheUSA about satellite, there are too many "tropical downpours" here that would disrupt the signal. We had that problem a lot even in Ohio. As for Comcast, I have heard a lot of complaints about them, especially their billing "irregularities".

Before moving here, I experienced both att-uverse and comcast while visiting relatives here. Att-uverse was far easier to use. At my previous residence in California, I had direct tv and later dish. Even the rare storm would interrupt reception. I have att-uverse with the top tier, 450, programming package, unlimited internet, and house land line phone for $187.00. I watched 3 football games in a row, Sunday.

I had Uverse and I really liked their TV package better than anything that Comcast gave me previously. The comcast interface feels very slow and 'clunky'. The Uverse interface seems a lot cleaner and more feature rich.

With that said I reduced to a basic package and went with Comcast because they offer 50Mbps internet and I prefer fast internet speeds which Uverse does not offer.

U-Verse here. Our house is 2 doors from the header so we enjoy excellent service here.

I'm guessing FIOS is not an option. Too bad - we have it in NY and I would sign on in a heartbeat if it were available in PSL.

I almost slipped over to the dark side and signed up with DirecTv after being a Uverse customer for 3 years. I did it only to save money. I called Uverse to see how I might be able to lower my bill. I did have U200 and a meager internet connection but they upgraded me to U450, a much faster internet and all for $50 less than I had been paying before. I am happy as a clam.

No Fios but Comcast offers both 50Mbps & 100Mbps packages.

I get the full 50Mbps all day. At night it gets cut in half but 25Mbps is still better than what Uverse(18Mbps) was able to give me. Upload is at 12Mbps consistently.
