Anyone tried a TV antenna recently?-directv2.jpg

We negotiated our DirectTV bill down to ~$10 per month and "share" a netflix and Hulu account with friends. A big cost savings without losing out on our Entertainment channels and shows.

Yet another reason--and a perfect example--of why DH and I chucked cable and now have indoor antennas for our TVs

Everyone should be paying the same rate--neither one of us was interested in jumping through hoops to "negotiate" a better rate than our neighbors--for the same channels (which, BTW, is considered by cable to be a "contract" for the length of the "deal").

Mainly though, we were paying for channels we weren't watching and had been toying with the idea of cutting the cord for a couple of years. When we first hooked up one TV to an indoor antenna, we got 21 stations. Now, we get 35. And the reception is spectacular--better than cable was.

No more schemes and scams (this has been removed from your tier, with no price adjustment, and these are now premium channels, for which you'll pay more) for us. It's free and we're thrilled.

And we go out a lot.

Save some work and do a little research at TV Fool or other free online antenna estimator.
