Hi all! Looking for a move to Palm City and getting discouraged! Are all the neighborhoods requiring a HOA fee of over 1,000 a month? W cannot afford that....any other ideas for my family of three(my husband, daughter, 11 years old and I)??Help we really like the area and hoping to make this move. If HOA fees are this expresive, any other options? thanks!

Only the exclusive developments charge that much. When I was looking, they were about 200-300. One was 380 but that included lawn service, irrigation, cable, internet, security, roof cleaning, house and driveway cleaning, and repainting every 6 years. Are you sure that 1000 wasn't quarterly?

We only pay $81 a month for our HOA. It includes upkeep of common areas, and yard irrigation. Every HOA community is different. We didn't want one that included a clubhouse or community pool as we knew we would not use either of these, so why pay monthly for them ? The HOA fee, and what it covers, is an important feature of house-hunting - including knowing what restrictions the HOA puts on home owners. In my friend's HOA, they are not allowed to have accordion hurricane shutters, which I think is ridiculous. There can be all kinds of restrictions, and not all of them are sensible, IMHO.

We live in Baton Rouge right now and pay 600.00 a year for hoa so to pay more than that seems insane to me! Like 600 a month is craxy!!Are there any decent neighbourhoods that don't have such a high hoa in palm city or r we just too used to Baton Rouge!!??thanks!!

Yes I know but even 300 per month seems ridiculous to me, touché in Palm city are there any gated communities or just regular neighborhoods where we don't pay so much ? Also are there aNy family oriented.neighborhoods in Stuart that are nice?

Most of Palm City is gated communities, but not all. The HOA fees do include a lot and $300 is not unusual for most any area here unless they don't do much in the community. If they are manned gates, that alone is a big expense.
.
Palm City is very kid/ family friendly as are pretty much all the areas along the Treasure Coast.

As for what you are looking for - all depends on the price.
