Hello everyone. We will be moving to the area soon not sure where yet though. Some where between Vero Beach & Stuart. We live south of Jacksonville now. We want to build a house down there. Kinda thought about the tax deed auctions as well. Never did that before so dont really know what to do & dont want to get took. I think we will def have to be on the outskirts because we dont want neighbors right up on us. We live on 6 + acres now in the country & enjoy the space between us. Have any of yall done the tax deed auctions? Can you share anything about it we should know. I was told there is a tax deed sale where the owners can come back pay up & reclaim their property & then there is tax deed auction where if you win the bid you pay up & it's yours outright. How do you check out the leins etc on houses your interested in? We arent people who ever have money & we sold our house & will have about 75k to do something with & want to make the best decisions & not buy a pig in a poke. We are debating on to do the sales or just build a small home/cabin. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Take it from me, for what its worth-buy something small and rent it. I have had a heck of a time finding a rental property for under $600/mth--I only needed a place until June so I am sharing a house with a couple for$500/mth. If you have 75k then you could buy a small property and keep it rented for way less than a mortgage would be and continue to make profit. Most of the places on Craigslist are trash so if you go this route Clean Clean Clean usually wins out over Location Location Location
