Hi everyone! I will be relocating in the fall and have a few questions about the area, if anyone could help please!!

By the crime stats, Vero Beach/Port St. Lucie look pretty safe, do you find this to be true? Safety is my very top priority in relocating!

From what I've seen, rental pricing looks very reasonable, am I missing something?? My budget is around $700 a month for a one bedroom in a very safe, quiet area.

It seems like there isn't much going on in the area (which I like). I'm looking to keep up our quiet, simple life. Looking for low crime, and just good people.

For reference, I have lived in Tampa and Orlando. I liked them both fine, Tampa more than Orlando, but do not want to move my son to such a large, busy city.

Are there many young families in the area?

Thank you so much for any input!!

Both cities are great choices. Sleepy family towns with a few options for entertainment. The beaches are awesome, the snowbirds can sometimes be an annoyance. Whenever I get frustrated with their driving, I just take a trip down to WPB. That will cure any irritation of the elderly!

Crime is pretty low- mostly theft from lowlifes that want what they're too lazy to work for. Lots of gun/gang issues in Ft Pierce. I would avoid that town if I were you.

Overall the cities are decent. Schools have a lot of room for improvement, but that's everywhere IMO. Good luck and look forward to hearing about your move!
