Hello everyone,

I currently live in Hobe Sound, Florida - about 5 minutes South of Stuart. I'm planning to move, the closest I want to go (and I intend to go North) is Vero Beach. For those who live there, what is it like? What are the pros and cons?

I've heard bad things about Ft. Pierce which is close to it, is Vero better?

My move date is January 1st.

Is there anywhere better you would recommend to live?

Regards,
Alex

Vero is BORING-mostly retired. Ft. Pierce has more to do-but I think it's a dirty town.More crime too.

Vero Beach is a very nice area. I don't know what you're interested in. I have friends that live in Ft. Pierce. They enjoy it very much. I'm sure, as anywhere, it depends on where you live.
We have some folks on here from Vero and, I'm sure, they'll be back online after Thanksgiving. They could be more of a help. In the meantime, do a search for Vero Beach and one for Ft. Pierce. You'll find some helpful info with that.

Vero Beach is a lovely town with a good school system and some beautiful subdivisions. It's uncrowded by comparison to Stuart. If you are looking to move into an area where you can feel safe, raise a child, and have some elbow room, then I recommend Vero Beach. If you are looking for hot nightspots, then I recommend somewhere else. Melbourne is a nice city with plenty to do but it has some big city problems. I'd say live in Vero Beach and visit Melbourne and Ft. Pierce for excitement.

Vero is wonderful as long as you have a job and a spouse/ partner. It is true that there are not a lot of hot spots. If, however, you have children and want a nice, safe place to call home then this may be the spot.

Default why are you moving

what do you want that is different. vero is a different place. i prefer the stuart palm city, port st lucie and jensen beach area. There is so much to do here and vero is more city to me.

I live in Palm Bay. I visit Vero often. I wish I would have moved there first. If I had work there , I would move. I like Vero just as much as I like Melbourne. They don't feel like big cities . It's very easy to live in towns with so many conveniences and such little congestion.

O crap, now everyone is going to move here.
OK its hot and muggy, move somewhere else.

Default i too want info

i hope the others who reported on this thread can continue reporting,
i am in a dilemna i am inquiring about a town to live in the melbourne/vero beach area. i am a massage therapist
that is looking for a holistic and spiritual community, where i can also make a living.
i am facinated with cozy downtown areas, and a place that is small, but not too small.
of course i don't want to be too far from the beach and i love big oak trees and natural wooded areas.

also, i have adopted a child from guatemala and i am single, so i am looking for a community that offers
and supports children and families, as well as singles.
i have been surfing the internet and came up with vero beach, melbourne, sabastion, coco village.
can you give me any recommendations , i would greratly appreciate your suggestions,

i wish those who reported earlier could elaberate on their comments about these areas. this . it is so hard with a baby to get up and check out an area to see of you like it,
i don't necessarily want action, but i would like a choice of music, live
places to hang out a little, not necessarily bars.
