Hi, I am just wondering which carrier people are using for cell service in the Hobe Sound or even the Stuart area? I currently have Verizon and was thinking about possibly switching companies since I am no longer in a contract, but I am particularly concerned about having good reception and phone service with AT&T, T-Mobile or Sprint as we won't have a landline. Thanks so much.

I hated Sprint and was always having problems and always in their store for something. AT&T was before them.

I have Verizon now and its like night and day.

T mobile does not get reception from what I hear from people who have it.

Interesting though that companies are buying each other up too

Never had an issue with T-Mobile in PSL myself.
They are actively expanding coverage even more.

We have some issues with T-Mobile, but to be honest I'm not sure if it's their service or our phones. Sometimes I think it's a bit of both. But, we've had them forever and get what we consider a good price so we stick with them. And we are in PSL/Ft Pierce. Hobe Sound is a little further south and may have more issues.

Trac-phone. 20 bucks gets me a 120 min card that lasts 3 months. Of course, I just have a basic phone, no android or apple smartphone. Only thing I can think of that I'd use a smartphone for is maybe directions....and I have a GPS for that. I don't use the cell much....just emergencies and such (in case the car breaks down). If there were still payphones around, I'd still just be carrying a roll of quarters instead.

I've got DSL at the house, so just got the "Magicjack" thing for home phone. Works good, long distance in the US is included and it's been a while since I renewed, but got the 5 year contract and I think it averaged about 3 bucks a month.

Tracphone here as well...here's what I have purchased two years in a row , go to eBay , look up tracphone big easy phone . They usually run around 30-40 bucks and it includes the phone ( yep basic type ) 800 minutes and one year of service ....best deal I've found for someone looking for cheap phone
