Greetings to all,

I will be retiring from the Army this fall after 20 years of service and if all goes according to plan, we will be moving to the PSL area. Needless to say, my family and I are really excited to be moving back home, especially to PSL. We visited last year and fell in love with the laid back vibe of the place (we are originally from Miami). I did a bit of demographics research last year on a website someone posted and can't find it now. I saved it to my bookmarks on the Google Chrome web browser and some how lost it. The colors of the website in questions are red, white and blue. This site has a very user friendly format. Wish I had a better description of the site but I don't. If anyone knows of this website, I would greatly appreciate a link to it.

The information I am trying to access via this website is St. Lucie County and Martin County school information among other things. I have 13 year old twins that will be HS Seniors this fall. Again, any help will be greatly appreciated.

-1SG CM.

I think you should look up the PSL School District and that will lead you to where you need to go. You are gonna love it here.

the school website isnt correct so much on high schools... where are you going to live? That in itself will say what high school is available.

If you want to pick a house from which high school, thats different and will limit you to only that area.

I want to buy in the vicinity of the school we choose. So figuring out which is the best school in the area is paramount.

Depends on age of children, high schools are pretty well defined, but there are several elementary and middle or k-8 in each zone and it is a "lottery" or "school of choice" a lot like an assignment dream sheet, you list your preferences and if they line up you get your first choice etc. We originally retired from the AF in 2014, then moved here to PSL over christmas 2015, My high schooler goes to Centennial which although currently scoreing lower than treasure coast is actually a better school unless you have at risk children. My eldest a junior is in all AP classes except drivers ed and so far is doing fine without issue.
My 8th grader is in a c rated school and is doing fine although the "bad" students weigh the school down, the good ones are plentiful and all is ok.

My kids will be HS freshmen in the fall so I appreciate the first hand intel you have provided. a couple of questions...What do you mean by "at risk"? What else, in your opinion makes Centennial a better choice? My concerns are: rigors of the school curriculum, extracurricular activities (clubs, athletics, etc...), and school conduct/environment (drugs, bullying, fighting, etc..) Kids have always been straight A students and have gone to school where the student population is mostly military children. I want to anticipate some of these things in order to prepare them for varying degrees of culture shock, as best I can.
