As expected since there is no realistic location in Port St. Lucie. The Port St. Lucie City Council jumped on board Fort Pierce's efforts to establish a Brightline passenger-train station in Fort Pierce.

Quote:
The council Monday approved a letter of support for the proposed train station because it would benefit Port St. Lucie residents and the Treasure Coast economy.

Brightline is considering developing a rail station, shops, a hotel and residences along the FEC tracks on the downtown Fort Pierce waterfront.

It’s not dead yet, Fort Pierce is in consideration which St Lucie has backed up, hopefully it’s not over yet because damn, we sure do need a train station here at such an isolated feeling knowing there are no trains within 50+ miles from Vero sad face....

The small amount of additional time required to stop and board passengers at those stations would be more than made up for by the increased ridership that they would generate -- especially since alternative forms of transportation in those two cities are pretty limited.
AMEN, I heard on the news the other night that Fort Pierce might be back in consideration Keeping my fingers crossed !

We so need a stop in the Vero beach area, this place is so isolated from everywhere and so dependent on private transportation I hope Brightline reconsiders !

Looks like Virgin America just made an investment into Brightline: https://www.sun-sentinel.com/news/tr...116-story.html

I think this increases our chances of getting a station in this area.

LOL remember the Florida Turnpike? You were supposed to have limited access and get places very quickly. Now you have exits and tolls galore. The more stops they add the slower the train will go and soon it will not be worth the money they will invest. I think one solution would be to have local trains take people to the limited stop destinations so they can wait for the train. Also if safety is a factor just look at how many people were killed and injured in Miami when they first started this mess. It is good that it is private for the most part unlike California where their train to nowhere has cost the state billions in overruns.

This train thing is a major screw up, makes no sense, the people who were against wanting a train stop, mentioned over and over, we are not going to have the benefit of a stop but yet the trains are going to come speeding through here, absolute stupidity on the part of the haters not wanting a train stop. Makes absolutely no sense !
