June 10th was the closing date on our new home. We are "almost" moved in. Our new best friends are Lowe's and Home Depot Loving the pool and the very warm weather. We are official too, got our FL licenses yesterday.

Does anyone know the days that we are allowed to wash our cars? I wasn't sure if we have water restrictions in the Vero area or not. thanks

You can wash your car anytime. I believe but you should check www.cityofpsl.com for sure but even numbered houses can water lawns on Thursdays and Sundays. I don't know the days for odd. Right now you should not have to worry so much about your sprinklers though. Again wash your car every day if you want.

Well, well, well......I am glad, you finally made it here !
Right now, I am not aware of any water restrictions in the Vero/ Sebastian area. But, if there are, they usually announce it one way or another.

I had to start using the water to keep my lawn and plants alive...since it has gotten so hot already....and we didn't even hit summer yet...lol.
It's definately going to be a hot one this year.

Congrats on your new home...and welcome to the SUNSHINE STATE FLORIDA !

Do I remember correctly, that you are a motorcycle rider ?
Well....make sure, that you will check out Earl's and Capt. Hiram's here in Sebastian on the weekends !

I don't know about everywhere else, but we are in Lake Forest at St Lucie West and are restricted to watering Mondays ONLY for 15 min. I do know there is a rule that if you buy new plants etc, hold on to the receipts and you are allowed to water them regularly until they are "established" (I think there's a time limit, but I don't remember what it is)

Welcome Hope you like it here

Default Yes, we both ride

we have been to Earl's many times. Planning on going this Sunday. My husband has a Goldwing and I have a Shadow. We usually have breakfast. Bee makes a great breakfast sandwich

My car has not been washed since Ohio. It looks nasty. Just wasn't sure what the restrictions were on the water usage. The outside is well. House is city. But still, we didn't want the water police after us

Well...I can see, you took onto the "locals spot's" and hangout places just fine...lol.
We (meaning my husband, since I gave up mine due to a crash ) has a HD Heritage Classic...and we try to ride as much as we can. Unfortunately is there my insane schedule, which includes working on the weekends.
We also take trips up to Melbourne....which are really nice.

Floridaorbust.....it doesn't matter if your car is washed....or not....lol.
I wash mine, and 1/2 day later it looks like it hasn't been washed in ages.
Dust, pollen...and the salty air will do that to ya, AND we are in that rainy season right now. So, chances are, that you wash your car, just to have it rinsed off by a shower coming trough....lol.

I remember when we first moved down here....our cars had all the salt, gravel and dirt from Pennsylvania still on it !

I found a small butcher shop on US 1. Carroll's meats. Pretty nice place.

It is hot But that is okay. We are learning to do our yard work early in the morning. Its all cominng together. I'm learning my way around all the numbered streets, ave and drives. It can be confusing at first.

There is a bike nite in Vero on Friday. We may attend. Also, I found Peterson's nursery. Do they also have a fruit market I actually came upon it accidently.

Lucky! Sounds like you are tearing into life down there!

Too make you feel better we've had rain for weeks up here with just a few sunny days.
Looking at Weather. 6 days with sun and clouds this month, 10 in May. The rest has been rain and gray and dismal.
