A friend of mine I think just made short sale history. He put a bid in on a short sale and within 3 days they took it and he closed within 30. The house was only on market for 2 months. I am told that the person selling it was in the military and over in Iraq. Maybe they rushed the sale (The bank that is) because if something happen to him the house would have to be forclosed.

Nobody rushs a sale at the banks, they don't care who you are. The bank may have already had an offer and possibly someone backed out and you still hit the window of the file being open. It also makes a difference if the purchase was cash or a mortgage. Some happen faster than others for various reasons. Some still take up to 6 months to close.

Was Bank of America who I am told can be a pain to deal with. I am not worried though. Wife and I booked tickets to Florida for May 29th one day after the deadline on our offer of May 28th. They do not respond by then we are taking our deposit back and moving on. I will not let any bank hold me hostage for more then 45 days time. If that means I never get a short sale then oh well guess I never get a short sale lol.
