Port Saint Lucie, FL 34952 good area? (real estate, condos, crime)

I was wondering if anyone is familiar with this area. I see a couple of homes & condos I might be interested in buying as a vacation home or rental.

We buy and sell homes on a part time basis. We also buy and refurbish homes on the side. We would not pick up a home in that zip code unless you have a history of homes that have sold well in the area. The zip you are looking to get a home/condo has not appealed to our business and friends. However, you may like the area in PSL and I would suggest to look before you buy.

If you want to FLIP a home/condo the flipping a piece of Real Estate is more appealing right now in the Washington DC area.

you can google any zip code in any city - go to google maps and go all the way down to the street level. Asking "where is a good location to buy an investment property" is a wide open door. It depends on the house and many many more considerations first. Not the zip code.

Hello Renee,

This zip code is on the east side of us hwy 1, there is a high school, elementary schools in this area. This is the area where the new city center is also. So it would depend totally on you what you are looking for. This area is a pretty decent area, and as a vacation home it would suitable for you.

thanks. im just looking for a vacation home a townhouse to be specific. The reason I ask is cause the prices seem too good to be true!I'm seeing prices 60,000 & up. the pics loog good but im coming down soon to see for myself!

What those nice photos don't tell you is what you need to know. YES, please come down and learn first hand.

I am purchasing a house right now in that zip code. The area is really nice, with some great looking neighborhoods. One of my coworkers lives 5 houses down from where we are buying and she has lived there for almost 15 years and had nothing, but good things to say.

That being said my wife and I saw those pics of the houses 60000-85000 and could not believe how nice everything looked. Walking up to the houses everything still seemed great, but when you get inside the houses are trashed. Either the former owners wrecked the place moving out or teenagers have used it as a party house and destroyed everthing. We saw dry wall completely ripped out, counter tops taken, food left all of the house causing insect problems, carpets ripped or stained, porches destroyed. very few would have appliances and if they did they were iruined. We looked at over 30 houses and the rule of thumb we found was nothing under 95,000 was really worth looking at and even in that range will need some work.

I've owned a home in that area for 22 years. Since 2006 I've been migrating back to the northeast US for 6 months. My home is always the same way I left it when I come back. I like it there. And even more since they built that park on hillmore with a nice walking path by the hospital.

The commute is also easier since you're usually going west when everyone is coming east and vice versa. I estimate I've said about a year of sitting in my car living in 34952 over those 22 years.

I admit it's not what it used to be though. It sure was nice back in late 1988 when I purchase there. It was like living in the country. There weren't a lot of homes like there is now. Crime is higher every year and I wish I could have picked a better neighbor or 2.

Best part of of it is the low taxes and being close to all that shopping, libraries and the beach...
