I am a 33 year old single woman possibly relocating to Portland. I enjoy an artsy, eclectic town; with a good bit of nightlife, and a good sense of community. Any of you natives have any info to pass on about your town?

I have long since passed my early 30s and single days, but I think you'll find numerous posts on the forum from those who enjoy or have enjoyed the nightlife. Welcome to the forum.

Based on your post, I would say Portland itself would be the best fit for you. There is the Arts District, several neighborhoods have their own neighborhood associations (not in the HOA sense, but in the community sense). The nightlife in the area would mainly be in Portland, too.

OMG! You just described Portland!

Artsy for sure. You'll find numerous artists and galleries around the aptly named "Arts District," which also includes the Maine College of Art and the Portland Museum of Art nearby. Eclectic too, you'll find a decent number of ethnic restaurants and a few quirky coffee shops and such. Nightlife is nothing spectacular, a few bars with dance floors really. Sense of community is quite prevalent though. Its often said that Portland feels like a big town. And thats about right.
