Moving to Maine next summer, looking at High Schools for the kids. We are not committed to one area to live in so it might depend on which is the better school? Does anyone have any opinions on Thornton Academy vs. North Yarmouth Academy?

Thanks

Good for you in doing your research, as a real estate agent, I can't advise you about schools, but others will. I do tell my clients to choose their home first, high school is four years, but your home could be the next 10-15 and if you're unhappy there and in your neighborhood, it's a difficult move.

I was raised in ME. TA is much, much more well known (I barely have a recollection of NYA). Also look at Cheverus. Test-wise, they're as good as you'll get in Maine aside from homeschooling.

How about Waynefleet and Chevrus? Or better yet, public schools in Cape Elizabeth, Scarborough, Yarmouth?!

I would add Falmouth to the list of excellent public schools.

I also think Waynefleet is a great choice. Wish we could have afforded to keep our daughter there.
