We're staying in Portland in October, and we have a couple mornings (2 hour chunks) and maybe an afternoon (2-3 hours) to see some things in Portland that we haven't already committed to. We already plan on going to the lobster shack in Cape Elizabeth...can you confirm this a good place to visit/have some good lobster/see the coast? Any suggestions while there?

On the other mornings and possibly afternoon, where would you suggest we go? We'll have a toddler, so we were considering a short stop at the kids museum. Also, are there any walks you suggest that are really nice and provide a great look at the city?

Lastly, are there any idyllic streets to walk down, with older homes or just nice architecture/views?

Sorry, one more thing...any restaurants that aren't super fancy (planning a nice dinner but not ritz carlton type prices) but have a good atmosphere on a weekend (not too raucous but not dead quiet) that you recommend?

Thanks for any help.
