We're considering moving to the Portland area later this year; I play a lot of pickup basketball and pickup soccer games around here, and there are tons of places to do so since Michigan State has a lot of facilities for them.

Was just wondering where people go for these activities in the Portland area (either downtown, Scarborough, where ever) so that I can get involved with those once we get there.

Is 'pickup' basketball different from regular basketball? I've heard of donkey basketball, where you play riding donkeys, but I don't think you could get that many pickups on a basketball court...probably be a lot of wrecks too, but we usually go to demolition derbies or stock car races to see that.

Sorry if you guys use a different terminology but I thought it was pretty easy to deduce what I was asking from the context of the post.

But if you really didn't understand the difference, I found a Yahoo! answers page for you to review.

I've seen it played it two areas I drive by often. One is Deering Oaks Park which is off forest ave. The other is at Edward Payson Park. That is off ocean ave. Both are outdoor areas where I seem to see random games with adults being played all the time.
