Hi, I would like to rent a nice home in the Portland area, close to the airport would be great. I would like 4 or 5 bedrooms 2 or 3 nice bathrooms and a garage, single family home. I would like a one year lease, if my job goes well, it is very possible to renew this lease for a several years. Can someone please tell if anything is available, and if so the approximate cost? The home is for me, my wife, and two children.
Thanks, Dan

For your 5 bedroom with a 3 bathroom and garage id estimate at least $2200 and closer to $3000 realistically. You are asking for something that is very large for Portland. You can get a smaller 3 bedroom 2 bath that is half the sq. ft. for $1200-1600. Those are rough numbers but those are pretty close to what you are looking at.

3 baths might be hard to come by, many places up here in the NE only have 1 bath. But there is a subdivision with newer bigger homes on highland near pleasant hill area, that sounds to me like what your describing. I think the estimate above is pretty good and you might check out craigs list for the most comprehensive rental listings or this guy's rentals can give you a good idea. for example check out the cumberland foreside 4bd 2 ba available aug 1.

I'm thinking you'd want to look at Westbrook, Scarborough and south Portland...you can extend to Gorham, Cape Elizabeth, Falmouth & Yarmouth...nothing is very far from the airport area here...we don't have much traffic except in the summer on the turnpike . Falmouth/cumberland to the airport is 15 mins if that.
