Today, the Portland Pirates announced that all of their 38 "home" AHL hockey games will be played at Adroscoggin Bank Colisee in Lewiston:

Man does this suck! They're having to play in a much smaller venue, a good 30 or so miles away. They also had to change the dates of a few games as well. This is NOT sitting well with my brother, who is a big AHL hockey fan. It's bad enough that we here in the Hartford area almost lost our team (AGAIN!). Now this happened? It makes me wonder if they would've gone to the new arena in Bangor, had it been built with a rink?

Yes, I'm well aware that Bangor is 107 air miles, as opposed to Lewiston's 29 air miles. The point is that their arena is brand new. I wonder how different things would be right now without any renovations to the Cumberland County Civic Center?
