Hello.
We are moving to the Portland area this summer (most likely end of June) with our 2 children, ages 2 and 5. Like many of the threads posted on this website we are still debating on WHERE to live- we are leaning towards Falmouth or Cape Elizabeth. We plan to rent for 6 months or so to try and figure it out. My question at the moment is can anyone recommend some summer activities to best acclimate our children to either community BEFORE school starts? We'll be moving after spring soccer and t-ball and are hoping there might be something in the Portland area where we can meet some families and kiddos their age? Also our 2 year old currently goes to pre-k a few days/ week, can you make any recommendations- again in either community?

My grand daughter goes to the Breakwater School in Portland. Breakwater School, Portland, Maine

It is a progressive private school that runs from pre-kindergarten thru elementary level. I know that her parents are very pleased with the staff and the programs and philosophy of education. Just as importantly, she loves her school. (It has been her calls asking me to Grandparents Day etc. that started my decision to move to Maine.)

They also have summmer programs. for kids your childrens ages. There is a lot of information on their website.
