I think that's going to be a fairly small slice of the rental market anywhere - landlord needs to charge a LOT more to compensate for the increased management burden and reduced % occupancy when they can actually get paid, compared to annual leasing. In addition to searching the internet sites and contacting local realtors, your friend might consider an extended stay hotel suite instead of a short-term lease... some info here...
