Hello from Indiana!! My name is Tracy and I am searching for an area or human collective (I hesitate to say commune but that is what I am searching for). I shared space and time with a group of friends in Ohio for a period of time and long to have that sense of cohesiveness and connection again. I was blessed to find it overseas in Amsterdam, Paris and again in Spain. I really hope to find somewhere to stay where people share my sense of excitement and pleasure just meeting and sharing with new people. I am a hard worker and a great cook also!! Does anyone have any suggestions??

Belfast has it's own network of 'connections' of those folks.

Also MOFGA has a huge network which includes organic farms and their apprenticeships. Many of the CSAs that I am familiar with in Maine are very 'commune-like'. Co-ops and partnerships are common. Apprentice on a farm, and once a Journeymen they work to get you onto your own farm, in the hope that you likewise begin accepting 'apprentices'.

FEDCO is also a Co-op of sorts connecting farms, CSAs and the like, and the folks who live on them.

You are welcome.

I give lifts to hitchhikers, and on occasion they will be traveling from one commune to another.

I was a vendor at an Organic Farmer's Market for a year, and I was approached by kids asking if I accepted apprentices onto my farm. It is reasonable, folks don't know until they ask.

Come to Maine and live the dream

Brietenbush in Oregon is also a cooperative with a "Spirituality" ring to it. They offer Yoga, Hot Springs, Retreats and other things related to those spiritually inclined. The place accepts those looking for an alternative lifestyle - you are required to work but doing mostly the kind of work you love - just need to find your niche while there! Good luck in your search.........
