Hi everyone, it's Michelle again. One question I forgot to mention in my other thread,
Ideas on making new friends in a new city? I will be out of college and not bartending anymore, so I'm nervous I won't make many new friends. Anyone out there have this problem?

BTW, Im 25 and my boyfriend is 32

Thanks!

Some things that have helped us include getting involved in some social networking. My wife found a nubmer of online groups for local moms or women and those have gotten her jumpstarted on meeting people. We tried out a number of Meetup groups for that reason.

We also just started having potluck brunches as soon as we moved. We would invite whoever we ran across that we had kind of connected with. It was a great way to cement those meetings that otherwise might not have led to anything. And even if you don't hit it off with some of the people that come it leads you into meeting more people. We also found that just having that proactive attitude made it easier to meet people.

We also got a lot out of Facebook. Facebook people you meet in town and then you start connecting with their friends, as well as deepening those casual connections. It's worked great for us.

There is a summer kickball league that always draws in a good amount of people. Search online for your own interests within the city. There are a variety of social groups for many interests out there.
