Hi I will be in Portland area for eye tretment and was wondering if anyone knew of decent, and cheap, weekly hotels w/ kitchen. Not Extended stay of America though, am looking for cheaper and less advertized ones. Also in Beaverton too....Thanks!

When I first moved to Portland, I found this was just perfect for me, my budget, and my needs and wants. You end up being a Temporary housemate (with cleaning and kitchen duties), without maid service. But again, YMMV. Ask questions, know what you're getting into, and house rules are.

PS: I am sure you already know on craigslist.com you can find weekly temp lodger / housemate situations under the Sublet / Temp Housing category look for weekly rates, in the $125 - $150 price range, and ask about kitchen privileges. Avoid downtown near Old Town or 'near' Pearl district super cheap hotels offering weekly rates on craigslist.com

If you don't mind druggies and prostitutes, I'd recommend the Portland Pensione. Great rates. Our room even came with used condoms in the bathroom!
