Rap/Hip hop? In Portland?

Heh.

No, but really. There seems to be more of a low-key indie hip hop scene, but it's definitely not a big thing. Definitely not. Definitely there. You can search around and find a decent hip hop show.

The leading name in the local scene for many years is a fellow called "Cool Nutz". Google him, and check out WiLD 107.5 - Portland's Party Hits , our hip-hop/R&B radio station.

I'm actually completely unfamiliar with his music, I just know who he is in the Portland hiphop community from reading local indie newspapers.

It was a joke Rob. I had a feeling you were not the "Cool Nutz" type...

Maybe the question should be: Lincoln... do you like Cool Nutz? Or even: Lincoln... do you really like Rap/Hip Hop?

Tobacco Road is an album put out by the group Common Market. Sazbi is a member of both Blue Scholars and Common Market, as a producer/DJ. Overall the hip hop scene is larger and more vibrant in Seattle, but Portland does have some good talent (for example, Lifesavas & Sleep).
