Portland Oregon is the 8th best city for young adults(generation Y?),

however the fly in the ointment for the city is "surprisingly high crime rate"

I'm fully surprised Tampa/St Pete didn't make the list.

I am surprised cities with high unemployment made the list. I am unclear about the study's criteria. San Francisco and Seattle have very good job markets for recent grads and were no where to be found and the rents are lower than most of NYC except Queens, Bronx, outer Brooklyn. Very weird. Plus, I don't know what kind of crime is being referred to in PDX.

I believe Portland ranks very high in nonviolent crime (primarily property theft).
