Thanks for posting this! I was about to do it myself but was too lazy to dig up the proper thread. In case anyone is curious, I shared this video on another Portland online community (according to CD rules I'm not sure I can link to it here) and was pleased to learn the following from another member of that community:

"This was a winning submission at the monthly open-mic film fest, Attack of the Flix - check it out, everyone! Details on this submission here (not me, but yay for promotion!): The Dream of the Suburbson Microflix - live streaming video powered by Livestream Check out Attack of the Flix every third Sunday at Curious Comedy Club in NE: Attack of the Flix | Facebook You'll love it, it's awesome - highlight of my every month for the last year or so."

lol. I especially liked the needing a new bridge "and make Portland pay for it" line.

But back to Portlandia. New season starts January 6th!

I just tried watching the first season on DVD. It was amusing for about 15 minutes then became a chore to watch for me. I switched to the 2nd epi but unfortunately it didn't get better. It's a lot like a looong SNL sketch. Unfortunately for me, SNL also ceased to be entertaining to me sometime before the turn of the century. The first couple sketches have some chuckles but then it's just tiresome.

There are some good ones, and there are definitely some really bad ones.

To me, that show bookmarks the end of the "old" Portland and the start of the "new" Portland.

They do a funny one about sun breaks, but other than that I don't think it is worth watching. Way too long drawn out before they get to a not very funny punch line.

I was just never a fan of Fred Armiston. I didn't think his humor was funny on SNL. The little I saw of "Portlandia" looked pretty cliche to me.

It's pretty cliche to Portlanders, but it sure hoodwinked a lot of wannabes.
