Hello west coast greetings from east coast! La Grande is my 2nd choice for relocation this fall , unfortunatly there are alot of negative post about La Grande. Is it really a Mormon issue or they are just cold to all outsiders ? Does anyone have good output on this nice farm town. Keep in mind I'm not moving there for all the culture and foofoo shops, I just want to move away from all the gangs here. Your time is much apreciated.

La Grande, Oregon vs Helena, Montana? Not sure you're going to get a lot of replies in the Portland forum - you might try the general Oregon forum and the Montana forum.

La Grand is a great town! There is alot of morman's here Dr's, enginers, police, people. I am not Morman and they treat me just fine. If gang's is the issue where you live then Mormans are not going to rob, kill or steal from you. It is not who they are! The way I live my life there are only 2 races of people asses and nonasses (color, what church they go to, what side of town they live in,or county, this don't matter)What matters is if they are law abiden, treat people fair, and respect. old man from La Grande ORE

A former colleague of mine was from Helena, Montana. He remarked about what the mining companies had done to the community. That was years ago so it may not be a concern today.
