I am hoping that someone can help me out here since I am not at all familiar with Portland. We may have an opportunity to move to Portland, OR and the job will be at OHSU. What are the areas to look for housing that is within reasonable commute to OHSU? We do have school-age children, so an area with good public school district is important to us as well. Any help or advise would be greatly appreciated!

Edited to say that we would probably like to rent a house to start....before considering purchasing.

Thanks!

Raleigh Hills.

Off Terwilliger Blvd.

Beaverton near Scholls Ferry Rd., between Hall Blvd. and Beaverton Hillsdale Highway.

Near Jesuit High School (its private, I just mean near it). It's on Beaverton Hillsdale Hy. near a small movie theater and ice skating rink. Name escapes me.

I used to work at OHSU around 1985. The good ol' hill. I came out of Beaverton, up Beaverton Hillsdale Hy, and north on Terwilliger Blvd.

Yeah, good choice for your situation, Raleigh Hills. Very short commute, measured in minutes.

I used to work at OHSU. Judging from my old co-workers, anywhere the light rail runs is an excellent commute from OHSU. They probably won't let you park on the hill anyway, so you will have to take the tram or a bus to get to work.
