Hello folks,

I currently am residing in an apartment in Beaverton and work remotely for a company that is out of state. My wife and I are both 27 and are planning to move into Portland sometime next year to be closer to other people our age. We're both college educated and plan to go to grad school soon. We're just into typical stuff- local breweries, good food, friendly folks. Where do similar people that have similar interests tend to live in Portland? We aren't looking for Doctor/Lawyer central- more of seeking young fun folks that are also interested in maybe doing grad school at some point, and who already have their bachelors degree. There seem to be lots of nice people around, so we look forward to moving closer to them!

Any particular neighborhoods we should look at?

Thanks for your feedback!

Up on (s)Nob Hill?
NW 21st, 22nd, and 23rd street.

Take a ride on the #17 bus from downtown to NW Thurman and NW 23rd, transfer over to the #15 and head back downtown. If you choose to walk around a bit, stroll down NW 22nd and look at all the apartment buildings. Also note the lack of car parking spots and how there is no street parking available.

This is not inexpensive living up there.

A friend of the family who is your age and is considering going back to grad school moved to the N. Mississippi area and *loves* it -- it's filled with lots of folks like her.

Pearl district, Nob Hill, or maybe some of the close-in SE or NE neighborhoods. Beaverton is definitely not a hotbed of young singles or professional DINK couples. (Basically middle America with 2.1 kids, a dog and a backyard...that sort of thing.)

Thank you all for the helpful feedback! I also appreciate the folks that sent me private messages. My wife and I will start doing some research on those areas.

Thanks again
