TLDR:
-Need a hotel with kitchenette
-Near downtown or a short MAX ride from Downtown
-Don't want to break the bank

Hi everybody,

I'm planning a trip to Portland in March and due to dietary restrictions I need to find a hotel that will allow me to cook for myself. I see that there are some extended stay hotels out in the burbs that have kitchenettes but I will be doing mostly tourist stuff in the downtown area and the MAX line rides look like they are 45 mins+ from some of these places (will not rent a car). Can anyone recommend a hotel that provides quick access to downtown (or is in downtown) that wont break the bank and has a kitchenette. I really only need the bare minimum for cooking - stove, fridge, oven.

The Residence Inn Lloyd Center is close to the MAX. Years ago the Mark Spencer had rooms with a kitchenette but their website doesn't indicate that they are available today.
