If your do is only "potentially" a pitt mix, I wouldn't even bother mentioning it. Can't he/she just be a mutt?

Try this link (and the links within ~ ). There are places you can call, like Dove Lewis Hospital or the Delta Society who may be able to give you some info about finding a pet-place.

Oregon Humane Society - Overview Check under Pet Friendly Rentals; there are other link there which may help you folks. There's a section by a realtor which has some really good info in it.

Hi everyone,

We had our visit this weekend and found a new brownstone townhouse near the Humboldt neighborhood that we really liked...kinda by Alberta Arts too, I guess (between Williams and Vancouver off of Alberta). The location will be great for commuting, but we'll have to make sure we have our dogs with us when we walk around at night, from what I gather. I think it should work though.

I just wanted to thank everyone for your input, this is a great resource and there were some really helpful tips. Sometimes on discussion boards there's the chance to get slammed for asking questions, but you've all made it really welcoming...thank you so much!

Williams is probably the busiest cycling road in the city. You will be AMAZED at the bike traffic on there coming from downtown during rush hour. Enjoy.

Kzoo_camp:

Thanks for the feedback. Sometimes it is really cool to hear back how things worked out.

And a big warm-fuzzy welcome hug (virtual) to both of you on your move to Portland. Also, give your pets a nice welcome scratch on our behalf.

Personally, I would look at Sellwood or Westmoreland. You're right next to the Springwater Corridor there, which is 21 miles long, and also connects to other long, separated bike trials. But Sellwood isn't the suburbs. Judging by listings on Craig's List, that should fit within your budget.

There are bike maps available here to download or order, for free.

Springwater isn't something you would ride to train on really it. It is more of a recreation and commuter trail. I got the impression the OPs were looking for some legit training routes.

Yep, you got it. Competitive cycling. We are soooo excited to hear that racing actually starts in March. Being from Michigan, we usually have to wait until May for any of the good stuff. Plus, we hear there are lots and lots of mini-races each week to keep the skills sharp. Fun!

Thanks for the well wishes, really getting giddy now!
