For those who live in or around Beaverton, where are the best areas and where should one avoid when looking for an apartment/condo/townhouse for rent? I don't mind older places as long as they have been remodeled on the inside...but I really prefer a new, clean look. And I prefer to pay around $1000/mo for 2 bedrooms. Thanks! I've already found several places, I just want to see what comes recommended here!

Don't live off of the North End of Hall Blvd. Milikan/Electric near Hocken is on the low end too, but not incredibly bad.

Most of Beaverton is fine. The area to avoid is around the Cedar Hills Mall (Cedar Hills, Walker & Jenkins area).

If I were going to rent, I'd start looking at all the apartments within about 1/2 mile of where Murray x Scholls Ferry near Murrayhill. In every direction of that intersection.

Plus on Hall just uphill from Greenway on the south side of Hall.

And on what I think is 121st, there's some apartments on the west side, north of the high school.

In addition to what's already been mentioned, there's the Tanasbourne area near 185th and Highway 26. It's between Beaverton and Hillsboro. There are plenty of apartments there. Most of the ones I've seen are pretty nice. My stepson rented a place there a couple years ago. The area has every kind of shopping imaginable, it's near Intel campuses and many other businesses, and Hwy 26 is a straight shot into downtown Portland. I wouldn't call it quaint, funky, or charming, but it's safe and convenient.

I'll second the last two posts. I'm within a 1/2 mile of the Murray/Scholls Ferry intersection. Restaurants, tanning (if that's your thing), Safeway/Albertsons, Walgreens, 2 miles off the freeway, nice residential neighborhoods around w/ random walking paths. Not charming but safe and convenient.

I agree, allen between 217 and murry is ok, but not optimal, otherwise there are tons nice places.
