Hello all! Firstly I would like to thank those of you helped me with the school info, now I just need to find some summer activities for my kiddo. He will be 11 and loves riding bikes, he is just getting into the skateboarding thing and loves to swim what are good locations for these activities and are there any 4H chapters out there? I would like him to meet some kids his age before he starts school even if they may not be at the school we eventually choose, he is a social butterfly and I would hate to keep him cooped up and bored during the summer! Thanks in advance!

The Zoo has summer programs and I think OMSI does too.

It has been a few years since I looked but there used to be a private day camp swim program, I think out by Mountain Park.

Do you have any idea what part of town you'll be living in? There are tons of activities, but I doubt you'd want to drive clear across town to participate -- especially as it won't promote socialization with potential schoolmates.

We are contemplating Hillsboro or Beaverton those places have been recommended by friends and from what I've read on here the schools aren't too bad. I definitely agree with not running around town especially with gas prices not to mention traffic! The zoo program would be cool like most kids he loves animals!

I have a 2 1/2 year old and moving to NE/SE portland close in. I know there are parks close by, and i think the indoor poor is at Buckman park. Just wondering what that area has to offer a family with kids
