Hi...I'd like to concentrate on moving to Beaverton, so I have these questions:

1. I need info on rentals (3 bedrooms, 2 baths, and we have 3 fixed, well-behaved indoor-only cats).

2. What large retail stores are in or very near to Beaverton? Or are they all in Portland?

1.) Stay way from anything where Hall and Cedar Hills intersect. Those apartments complexes are the highest place for crime, even though it's mostly domestic calls and car prowlers. If you go down closer to the Transit center it's gotten much better in the past few years. Electric Street has three apartment complexes on it which are nice as they're centrally located to everything especially MAX which has a station right there. There are other apartments scattered through out the area.

I can't comment on pet policies on any of them though.

2.) Fred Meyers, Best Buy, Powells (not large like you're looking for it seems, but their second largest store is there and it's by far the best Bookstore around,) Barnes and Nobles, Office Depot, WinCo (local grocery store chain.) And Washington Square is about a ten minute drive south. It also has access via Trimet.

Default pets in rentals

lol- I've become an expert on "pets in rentals" recently because we were looking for a place with our 2 beagles and 3 cats.

95% of apartment complexes will only allow 2 pets.

The only complex we found that would take more than 2 was Seneca Village (which is actually north of Beaverton close to Intel). This complex allowed 3 pets and was SUPER nice and convenient to the very nice shops in Orenco/Tanasbourne area. Not sure of you budget, this was on the higher end of what we looked at.

Not saying that this is the only place, but the only place we found...

You probably want to search for local leasing agencies that help manage people's private rentals. I did this by just google searching. Also, check daily on craigslist for privately owned houses/condos that are renting out, etc...this is where we were able to find our place. Look for "pets negotiable" and stuff like that. We paid extra security for having our pets and gave them our vet's name as a "pet reference."

I'm sure that finding a rental with 3 cats will be MUCH easier than with 2 dogs and 3 cats.

Good Luck!
