here in TX to take care of a family member during a crisis. I'm now free to leave.

If anyone would like to share shipping costs. My quote right now is at least a couple of thousand but also want to ship my car rather than drive the distance. Let me know if you're wanting to get out of this god-foresaken land.

looking to leave the beginning of November.

Not sure I understand. It's an "all you can ship" package deal? How is this going to be fair? Personally I would sell the car. Period. But you would probably want to buy another in Portland. Fair enough, and doable. The best car I ever bought (and the cheapest) was bought from a lot in Salem, OR. Just saying. YMMV.

I still have car payments, so not sure what to do about that. I have to take it with me. Also, not sure about what your mean about being fair. I'm not looking to profit, but to share the cost of the move somehow.

Just a suggestion if you haven't done so already but wouldn't it be a better idea to post this in one of the Texas forums? That way you may be able to reach someone who is also trying to move toPortland.

The people who will read this in the Porltand forum are here already.

Okay I get you. You mean you are looking for other Texas people who may be posting in the Portland forum asking for the same thing. Didn't think of that. I figured that there may be some people in the Texas forum who were thinking of moving to Portland so they would be the ones to hook up with.

One thing I truly miss about texas, the people. Very open and friendly, not passive aggressive certainly not like here. The people are more open.

Really? I found quite the opposite in Dallas and Houston.

The few people that did talk to me seemed older folks who were off their rockers mentally. I felt like riding the bus here, but without the bus.

In my visits to Dallas, I found that people were pretty much like people anywhere.

The difference came when I explained that I was from Oregon.
Once they found out that I was "new" to Texas, most people bent over backwards to help me out.
Texas hospitality rocks!

I could never live in Dallas though, not my kind of town, climate, or geography.
