I honestly think portlanders just screw with people about the weather here. We get what, 150-160 days of rain a year? I mean, its moist and all, but not even close to up in seattle where they are IN temperate rainforest.
We just have lots of that around us....And if you ever get tired of it just drive up the gorge and you can go hiking in the sun for a day while its raining on portland

You mean the Seattle, that gets (to within a fraction of an inch) the same rainfall as Portland?? (and this according to NOAA).

It's not the rain - the rain in the PNW is certainly worse than other areas of the country but manageable. It's the gray skies. This week is a bit of aberration - generally the skies are clouding and overcast. At this higher latitude than a lot of the country the sun hangs low in the southern sky as well so the ambient light is very low. There is a very real Seasonal Affected Disorder issue here due to the lack of naturally occurring Vitamin D. The rain is an afterthought IMO.

Not too cold for me. I think it's been just fine.

PNWdreamin I have not moved to Portland just yet. My arrival time is between may and june. Work has made some cuts and i can't move just yet. I going up in Feb again to look in salem and other areas. My sister in law just moved to Fort Lewis, WA with her husband and tells us how unbelievably cold it is but then again she is more up north that i will be. I have friends and family who send me pictures every day of the fog, cold temperatures and sleet. Its amazing and i can't wait to move

With 10 days to go it has been the driest December since 1876 and the 5th coldest. It's not a myth, but we DO need some moisture sometime this winter to get the snow pack ready for summer.

Here in NorCal we'll certainly surpass 1876 (we already have actually) / 1989 (they were tied) and possibly 1955. We'll end up either 2nd or 3rd driest and certainly colder than normal.
