I've worked night shift for so long...SAD won't affect me . I am moving from Louisville to Portland in March. I lived in Portland as a teenager and visit often.

For what's it worth I was born and raised in San Diego. I left there at age 24 and moved to Louisville. I was border-line suicidal there...but happy as a clam in Ptwon!!

Check out this weather thread: Portland Weather Facts

Scroll down to see links to a ton of weather videos.

The Steel Bridge links show a video for each day of the year (over 365 time-lapse videos).

Denver is called the "Mile High City" due to its high elevation. There is less oxygen available at that elevation, and you will notice that your respiration rate is higher in Denver than it would be in Portland (especially when engaged in strenuous activity).

I'd like to add that photos and videos show you what it looks like but not what it feels like. Sitting inside and looking out the window sometimes I think "Awww, it's cloudy (or foggy or raining)" but then when I go outside it feels wonderful! The air is so clean and smells so good, and it's not that cold if you have on enough clothing. A brisk walk in the cool overcast or mist is the best!

Absolutely! It's like having a continual beginning of Spring.

we visited louisville (KY right?)for three days and i could not leave fast enough!!! people had hate spewing from them. it was the oddest experience i have ever had. i asked a guy how he was doing at a convenience store and he pounded his fist on the counter and screamed that he would be better if he was in calfornia. yikes! we were treated rudely by everyone we encountered.

tennessee was wonderful however. nicest peeps in the whole world. go figure.
