So here is the deal. I currently live in salt lake city utah and my girlfriend and i would like to move to portland or somewhere maybe 10-20 minutes out. We don't know anything really about portland....and we don't know anyone there...
. so i was thinking maybe someone could be so kind as to tell me what is an affordable place to live around the city where i could get a good job and all that jazz. also we would like to make some friends before we get out there if possible so if u could use a friend that is from outta town let us know.

10-20 minutes out of Portland puts you in the middle of the Interstate Bridge. At that, you would often have trouble making it to Portland in 20 minutes. You can't find a parking place in Portland in 20 minutes. Portland is a very compact city, but the only time you can drive from one side of town to the other in 20 minutes is at 3 AM.
Your best bet is to give up driving and live somewhere close to the MAX line.

. so i was thinking maybe someone could be so kind as to tell me what is an affordable place to live around the city where i could get a good job and all that jazz. also we would like to make some friends before we get out there if possible so if u could use a friend that is from outta town let us know.
