I looked up all the info on the joyce hotel, sounds seedy enough, problem is, according to online sources, its 40$ a night for a room! Hell, they got 20$ cheap sleazy rooms elsewhere in usa, what about portland?

Thats really helpful thanks.. So where do all the "poor" people stay in downtown or NEAR downtown area? On MINIMAL income? Must be places somewhere?

lol, no there aren't places.

assuming you mean "poor" and not homeless.

if you're homeless, stay where ever you want, i guess.

but if you're looking for legitimate shelter, super-cheap, it doesn't get any cheaper or seedier than the joyce hotel.
