I have some interviews up in Portland late next week and I need a good, but affordable place to stay that isn't too far from downtown Portland, Beaverton, and Vancouver. Anyone have any suggestions?

When I was in town for interviews I stayed at the Shilo Inn near Lloyd Center, which is very near all the MAX lines. If you aren't renting a car, there are many mid-range hotels/motels in that area convenient to the MAX, which will get you to downtown in 5-10 minutes (Beaverton is a longer haul, and Vancouver would require a bus ride.)

What other hotels are in the area? And if I'm going to need to stay somewhere for around a month where would I stay?

In addition, what are some places I should visit and places to eat while I'm up there? I want to get a good taste of the town!
