My boyfriend and I are thinking about moving to Portland. I have never been but have always wanted to move there and now seems like the time for a change. We are both in our mid-20's, laid back, and love the outdoors. I'm not really sure which areas to be looking for apartments or houses. I bartend so it would be nice to be close to restaurants or bars. Not really sure what to expect when we get out there so any advice would be helpful!
Thanks so much!

I'm not trying to be rude, but I would suggest spending a solid week reading old posts on this board. Get a better feel for the city, expenses, etc.....
It doesn't seem like you know much about Portland, and if you get more familiar with the city you can ask more specific questions that we can actually help you out with.

ie. There are about a thousand threads that will tell you where you can live in Portland for less than $800.

lol, east portland.

no, that's not nice.

but, since there's two of you, i'm assuming you want a one bedroom?

so, yeah, east portland i guess.

it's not the nicest, and certainly not the hippest part of town, but it's cheaper.

Is that $800 for rent or your monthly allowance for rent AND bills/utilities, etc?
