I don't know what's wrong with people, but I want to extend my deepest sympathy to the families and friends of the victims and all who have been affected by this tragedy. My husband is a native of Portland, his mother spent her last years living near Clackamas Town Center, we've shopped there in the past, so the shooting hits home for us. I personally have a deep love for Oregon and fondness for all the nice people we've met during our visits there. I am sad that something as ugly as this shooting could happen in a place as beautiful as Oregon.

I used to do business frequently within spitting distance of Clackamas Town Center.

Condolences for the dead and their families, Godspeed to all.

Apparently they're revising the count of those killed to one. That's a small bright spot in all of this.

I just turned KGW on on my computer (like I always do t 5:00).

I'm in Washington but I get my news out of Portland.

Another freakin' gun-related tragedy.

I know the majority of the population doesn't want gun control in any form, but for crying out loud! something needs to be done about these crazy idiots with guns!

It seems like we can't even go a week without hearing about some tragedy that's directly related to crazy people with guns.

I'm 5 miles from the Clackamas Town Center... crazy that this happened less than 2 weeks after I moved to Portland.

People are crazy.

This is the second murder in a week less than a mile from my NEW house, WTF? And to think I moved out of St. Johns because I didn't think it was safe. Both suspects are teenagers in both murder incidents.

That mall is in a weird area ... Stepford digs abut a rougher area (the not so well-liked lengthy 82nd Avenue) and, as usual, these demarcations are dictated by hilliness versus flatness. Then, people will go on to say that bringing the terminus of the light rail to the mall was not a good thing. Well, that mall has been a major bus hub for quite a while. This is surprising because that mall has typically been an almost vanilla place in the PDX metro area. Most people react to that area with a "snooze." It just goes to show that we do really live one day at a time.
