Maybe all the way from Seattle to Medford.
That is a fantastic idea! I can't image much resistance from Eugene or Roseburg, but good luck with Coos Bay. I grew up in Coos County and I can tell you that there is no way in hell the city council will allow it to happen. They like their small town atmosphere and are not open to progress of any kind. They even threw a fit when there was a hint that Amtrakk might extend service to the area. I can't count how many large businesses that have tried to move in with little to no success. It's sad really.......the logging and fishing industries aren't what they used to be and the jobs simply aren't there any longer. Then those same people wonder why the younger generation left without looking back.

Were those articulated busses pre-Max? Did they run up and down the Bus Mall?

Yes, pre-MAX. They ran everywhere, basically on the heavier-traveled routes.

A multi billion dollar subway system will be a great place for all the bums and homeless kids to get out of the rain and bad weather.

It's always ranked as one of the funniest Simpsons episodes ever(and written by Conan O'Brien).

I remember people making a lot of references to that episode when Portland was building the tram...

I stand corrected. They just didn't seem to last that long to me. After that scary ride, I think I just wanted to forget them!

We have already been through this. Even "Minervah" brought in a Cleveland expert from another forum for extra clarification on the issue. All three of those cities do indeed have a subway system.
